I am just not happy with the quality for the price. We purchased a bed and dresser recently. I believe it was the myhaven line. I really love it and have been very happy with it. The drawers open and shut easily on the dresser which was my biggest concern, I have noticed lots of dressers seem to have sticky drawers nowdays. We ordered it in the rubbed white finish. With that said, we did have a problem with the finish on the bottom drawer of a dresser, it just wasn't done well and had a texture to it, not smooth.

They originally sent me several replacement parts but since then one more broke. My kids are NOT hard on their furniture. We do not play in our rooms and when they were little they really never went in their drawers, I pull out and put away their clothes.

My sister in law bought the same set, about the same time, and has also had some of the same and worse quality issues with the bed and dressers. Of all the pieces the desk has held up the best. One thing that drives me nuts is I cant take the drawers out. Several times I have had papers or something in the desk get behind a drawer, like when you over stuff it, and it is a pain in the you know what to try to get your hand or arm in the drawer and up and over the back of the drawer.

This has only happened in the desk, but I can not remove any of the dresser drawers either, they only open half way, which I guess is a safety issue but also drives me nuts.

I keep meaning to call them to see if I can get a new slide or buy a replacement part somewhere I didnt buy Stanley thinking it was disposable. And like I said, my kids are never in their rooms except to sleep! I can add another disappointing Stanley experience. I could easily have bought a set of used solid wood for a quarter of that price and had it painted, distressed, refinished etc I think the end result would be have been much better! And to answer your specific question, my 12 year old has already out grown the desk!!

Plus the drawers are difficult to slide in and out.. Ok, now that I have read much negative is there any positive people out there. I don't think Stanley is the best, but to be honest I haven't seen any "great" made items either and I don't think there that bad.

Alot ot the children's furniture as well as furniture in general seem poorly made. The rest of my daughters furniture is Morgeau - Lepine which is now out of business. It's Ok but before we had central air conditioning my furniture draws were vevy difficult to open in the summer days.
