Who is the jamestown distributors girl
Just be warned to count all the items in your orders, especially the screws. I have received three different orders now, that were suppose to have boxes of screws in them. Each box had 60 or less screws. I've talked to them, and they promised to send the rest, but when that box came it was still short. Hope the get there act together soon. In the mean time count your items.
Heaven forefend! They have always been honorable and I imagine that if everyone checks and keeps on them, they will solve the problem, which we hope is with their supplier and not Jamestown themselves. What Ian said. I've always found them to be prompt and reliable.
I would give them another chance and the benefit of the doubt. Yea, I'd give Jamestown a pass, too. They've always been good to me, too. It may be their supplier whose screw counting machine messed up. You can't expect them to open every box that comes from the manufacturer and count the screws. All it would take is for the machine that counts the screw to be left set on a smaller screw size for the count to be off when the larger batch gets packaged.
Automation is like that. I can't say Jamestown has ever screwed me! I got boxes of screws from Hamilton that were short too Perhaps it's an Iraqi conspiracy Posts 12, I was half-guilty, half-psyched until the second invoice arrived a few weeks later. In time, they'll do right by you, and by themselves.
They know that their clientele are not stupid. Join Date Oct Location flint, mich usa Posts They've been right on with all my orders. Good thing. They're kind of like the only girl in town. If you know what I mean. I've had a UPS problem twice between Jamestown and me, but Jamestown was quick to get replacements sent off.
Nothing wrong also with doing some shopping around. Below are some good folks and I'm sure there are others, I. Tom "Leave the gun, take the cannolis". I swear by, not swear at or about, Jamestown and Southern Crown. I've had an account with Jamestown Distributors for many years, and I regard them as the best marine supply house in the business. They and others are obviously having trouble with their automated fastening-counting procedures.
That doesn't mean they are trying to cheat you. If you receive a short-count box of screws, first look at your invoice. I have received short boxes, but the invoice has charged me only for the number of fasteners in the box. If the box is short, but the invoice charges you for a full box, just let them know and they will quickly make amends. In some other cases, when I order by phone the salesperson lets me know if they are understocked and have to send a short box.
I know they do their best, so don't sell them short. Join Date Oct Location dutch harbor, ri Posts Jamestown is not the operation it was five years ago. Another place I buy from frequently, and I'm surprised nop one has mentioned them, is Annapolis Performance Sailing. These guys are extremely knowledgeable, have great prices on running rigging and good prices on everything else. Their customer service is top notch.
Those who shop at West Marine really ought to be ashamed of themselves. The store has no knowledgeable people, lousy support, horrible catalog, miserable web site and has wrought massive destruction on myriad chandleries that provided such good service for so many years.
Defender, Fisheries and JD are all excellent alternatives to the marine equivelent of Walmart I've done most of my i project with stuff from JD, and have them at the top of my build page as a preferred vendor. Out of literally dozens of orders, I've only had one very minor complaint with them, and the good stuff from JD more than outweighs that one minor complaint, no question about it.
Somehow I accidently unsubscribed from their email list and can't find my way back on, though! Help me out JD! Overall, a great site and easy to navigate.
I love these guys. I am astonished at how fast Defender shipps stuff out. And the prices more than made up for the difference in shipping. I will have to give them a closer inspection next time I have to get boat stuff and have enough time 2 days to wait for a delivery. Been using JD lately and no complaints. I had 2 cans of kiwi grip dried out on opening and they will be replaced without returning the product.
That's customer service. Defender vs. WM topic. Jamestown Distributors vs. Start new topic. Recommended Posts. Posted February 6,
. TimFordi 87 4 Posted February 27, Posted February 27, ANd no, I do not work for them. Posted February 29, I've shopped at WM and now defender. I use Jamestown for these reason.
No sales tax to CT. WM and Defender have to charge tax. They ship from RI so I get the item next day via ground shipping. I live in CT. They have a program that you pay a one time yearly fee and you get free ground shipping. Infidel 3 Posted March 5,
